Biography

Marta Hiczewski is a Partner of The Magellan Group LLC where she is responsible for working with clients to meet strategic objectives and develop opportunities for growth. Marta is passionate about helping organizations put structure and voice to their dreams.

Marta’s academic and work experience have prepared her to lead organizational development and strategic planning processes in a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations. She believes in creating a simple, clear process for clients in developing a strategic direction that is actionable, measurable and easily communicated to stakeholders, internally and externally.

Marta is an organizational development consultant toGetSET, a capacity building initiative of the Tower Foundation, Oishei Foundation and Ralph C. Wilson Foundation. Magellan is a supporting consultant with the Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS). Marta is engaged in organization assessment, infrastructure planning and value proposition development. The FLPPS Pilot project is designed to integrate Community Based Organizations into the healthcare delivery process. Magellan’s has successfully improved performance to rural, urban and culturally competent organizations.

She provides marketing and communications support in branding and rebranding, development of marketing strategies and event development and management to organizations.  Marta has successfully branded and rebranded non-profits, healthcare organizations and businesses, including logo development, marketing strategy and implementation. Among others, she has worked with the Community Foundation’s Community of Giving Legacy Initiative working with minority non-profits in successful developing marketing strategy.

In her senior level role with the legendary Buffalo Bisons, she led the marketing, event entertainment and sales for the organization that set all-time record attendance marks for six straight years, drawing more than one million fans each year. Marta is the recipient of the Rawlings Minor League Baseball Woman Executive of the Year.

Her experience includes developing and managing multi-market programs for food manufacturers, mortgage companies, banks, precious metals, inter-tech, sports and healthcare organizations.

She is president of the Board of Trustees for Cradle Beach, board member of the West Falls Center for the Arts and co-chair of the historic Buffalo International Horse Show. She and the Magellan Group also support the WNY BloodCare formerly the Hemophilia Center of WNY, Bornhava, Stables at the Knox, Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens, Mercy Hospital Foundation, Neighborhood Health Center, Ibero American Action League and Wyoming County Community Action.

Marta is a Cuban-American, Spanish-speaking native of Miami, FL where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Psychology from Florida International University. Her Master’s thesis work was in refining a measure of biculturalism used in assessing and evaluating client progress at the Spanish Family Guidance Center located in the heart of Little Havana.
